I Crashed My Helicopter; How Do I Know My iKON2 Is Safe to Fly?Updated 2 years ago

The new iKON2 control units have an advanced self-diagnostic system that is executed at each startup of the unit.

If, during the tests, some hardware problems should be found, the control unit does not complete the initialization. This will cause the unit not to start and does not allow the model to be flown. The red led emits more than three flashes indicating the type of hardware error.

There are also reports following the POST (Power On Self Test) signaled by different movements of the swashplate. These movements could indicate setup problems, transmitter setup issues, or problems in the gravity readings by the accelerometers (critical for Auto Level and Rescue to work).

This second type of signaling may not be critical. Once the issues are corrected, the model can be safely flown. If there were problems detected with the accelerometer readings, Auto Level and Rescue are disabled for the flight since these are the only functions that use them. The model can, however, be safely flown without these features.
